Nils Frahm to record album with childhood friends for R&S

Nils Frahm has collaborated with lifelong friends Frederic Gmeiner and Sebastian Singwald as nonkeen, creating The Gamble for R&S records.

Frahm met Gmeiner and Singwald in primary school in the '80s. All three had a passion for music and sound recording from a young age, Frahm and Gmeiner had their own radio show in their native Hamburg before meeting Singwald in 1989. After the fall of the Berlin wall, the trio spent time writing and recording together, before falling out of touch and reconnecting in later life.

The Gamble has been a long time coming for the trio, the tracks have been recorded over the course of a decade in a variety of places, culminating in the improvisational record.

R&S Records will release The Gamble on February 5th 2016.
