"Japanese producer Lycoriscoris aka Yunosuke Senoo makes his Anjunadeep debut with a bold 6-track EP, encompassing his wide-ranging electronic, classical, and jazz influences.
With two albums under his belt on Japanese indie labels, he garnered impressive A-list support from DJ Koze, Michael Mayer and Dominik Eulberg over the past 12 months with his release on Kompakt’s KX imprint.
This was followed by a memorable contribution to the iTunes #1 Dance album ‘Anjunadeep 08’, the contemplative ‘Drop’, reworked by Jody Wisternoff and James Grant especially for the compilation.
Presenting his most expansive project to date, Lycoriscoris showcases a meticulously crafted journey through electronica, from the trippy tones of ‘Sur Oiseau’, the record drifts into the upbeat groove of ‘AS’, a quirky blend of organic sounds and experimental percussion.
Title track ‘Drop’ weaves delicate low-end beneath an emotive piano line before the dreamy pads of ‘Lush’. Penultimate track ‘Her’ layers guitar riffs and intricate melodies alongside stuttered percussive sounds ahead of the EP’s blissful finale ‘MSK’."
